From workers’ brass bandto marching band
Over a century of music in Frais-Marais: presidents, conductors, generations of musicians… and uniforms that changed with the times.
1927
The beginning
First founded in 1911 by Eugène BOIDIN and Philippe DEWEZ as a workers’ brass band, the group only became a concert band a few years later… It was in 1927 that it was named the Harmonie La Concorde de Frais-Marais Douai, with nearly a hundred musicians at the time.

From the beginning to the present day
Like its uniform, La Concorde has seen a succession of presidents and several musical directors.

2021
Change
Since 2021, the band has taken a new turn and has never stopped evolving. Its new management team is committed to modernising the repertoire with French and international pop songs from the 70s to the present day.
The uniform has kept up too, evolving to move with the times. The band now has around forty musicians. At one of our performances you might recognise tunes by Lady Gaga, Magic System, Anastasia or the Backstreet Boys.
2025
The new uniforms arrive
2025 marks a fresh start: the band gets new uniforms to take its music beyond the Douai area. The new uniform continues the modern evolution begun in 2021.
The band adds another string to its bow to win over new partners: producers, entertainment professionals and festival committees.

After the new uniforms, a lively repertoire and the choreography, all we were missing was the name.
